| Lesson 9 God
        is Immortal Definition:
Only God possesses immortality "as an
original, eternal and necessary endowment." The immortality of man's soul is
conferred upon it by God and is contingent on His will. Meaning:
Man cannot gain immortality by his own power,
instead God must grant it to him. God promises to give it to those who believe in Him.
Those who don't believe will be separated from Him forever and will suffer eternal
punishment and torment as a result of not being with God who gives life and immortality. Scripture Support:
I Timothy 1:17Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be
honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I Timothy 6:16Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach
unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
 Conclusion:
Only God is immortal in and of
          Himself. Application:
I need to trust God and submit to
His will in order to be able to live with Him eternally in immortality. |
