The Creation Explanation

Creation Explanation Life -- Miracle, Not Accident

Conclusions

Science, we believe, can never discover the truth about the origin of life. It will never be possible to say, truthfully, "Science has now proved the special creation of life in the beginning." It will always be equally impossible to say, "Science has proved that all living things have evolved from non-living material by chemical reactions, mutations, and natural selection." Strictly from a scientific point of view, each person is free to believe in creation or in evolution, and each believer considers that he has some scientific justification for his personal belief. Genesis 2:7 tells of the source of human life: "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

Science cannot observe, experiment with, and report what happened at the beginning, because those events were not observed by man and cannot be repeated by man. Repeatability is a necessary part of scientific verification. For this reason, each person must reach his or her own conclusions in answering questions about the origin of life.

Scientists can improvise theoretical explanations theories, scenarios or models designed to fit as many as possible of the observed facts. The two major explanations entertained during the five centuries of the development of modern science are creation and evolution. Probably the majority of scientists, committed to assorted secularist beliefs and philosophies, favor the evolution explanation. However, there are some well-informed professional scientists who hold that the creation explanation better fits the sum total of known scientific facts. The Biblical teaching that the complexity and interdependence of all things, from the atomic nucleus to life to man to the distant galaxies, is the result of intelligent, purposeful design rather than chance appears to many intelligent, knowledgeable people to be the most reasonable view of the universe and of all of reality. This is our position as the authors of The Creation Explanation.

"...what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and godhead, so that they are without excuse..."
Romans 1:19, 20
