A Warning

The Lord Jesus warned us of false Christs to come. What will be the response of mankind when these false Christs take over after the Church is raptured and the man of sin is revealed? In II Thessalonians 2:3-11 we read, "Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day shall not come, except there come the falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, Who opposeth and exalted himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he, as God, sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Remember ye not that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what restraineth that he might be revealed in time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work; only he who now hindereth will continue to hinder until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked one be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all the deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie." That, my friend, is a description of the day in which you and I live. Today men would rather choose to believe a lie, whether the lie of evolution which is a mockery of what God says, or the lie about the end times - that through scientifically controlled evolutionary processes beings have evolved, even beings who claim to be angels in the universe and who are coming with a new message. Paul says Wickedness shall be revealed, men shall be deceived and they shall believe this great lie. Paul warns those who claim to believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be aware of these things. According to verse 12 those who believe not the truth will be dammed.

Regardless of what is claimed to be the truth in these days, regardless of what man says, regardless even of beings who come in the name of Christ, we are warned by the testimony of Christ Himself to be aware and not be deceived. We find in Galatians 1:6 the following admonition: "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, Which is not another; but there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." What should you do if an angel comes and tells you that Christ is returning? Ignore him. What do you do about books and stories about flying saucers? Be not deceived. These are simply tools of Satan, proclaimed by the deceiving followers of Satan, followers of the antichrist and proposed by fallen angels leading up to the coming of the Lord.

How do I now this? I know the Church is going to be raptured. I believe those churches described in the second and third chapters of the book of Revelation are all descriptive of churches existing in our time. Only one of the seven churches truly believes. There will be people living on this planet who have gone to church and know what God says yet have not acted upon it. When the rapture occurs and Christians are taken out of the world, they are going to know what took place. Evidently the world does not repent even then. Why? Because Satan is going to step in and say, "I have returned. I am Christ. I have taken all of my followers out of the world in flying saucers. I have returned now with my fleet and I have come to set up my kingdom."

You smile at that, but when the man of sin is revealed in power, people are going to be deceived. The Lord says the deception will be so great it could almost fool the elect, the true believer in Christ. What chance does the world have? None at all. Antichrist is going to persuade the whole world to follow him. Through the tribulation period these people left on earth believe Christ is with them. To those followers who right now believe they are going to be raptured, Satan says, "I have chosen you to stay with me. Help me out. You have been such a great help. Just keep on in your unbelief of God." And he is going to deceive many.

My friend, "though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." What gospel is that? It is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who came and in power lived his sinless life, died on the cross, was resurrected by His own power from the dead, who indeed says He is coming again. This Jesus Christ does not need a flying saucer. This Jesus Christ is revealed to us as the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Creator of all things. He is the one who is responsible even for the atmosphere and He does not need a flying saucer or any physical device to fly through the air which he created in the beginning. The Jesus Christ I worship has the power to do what He says He did. He created even the air you and I breath, He created space, the heavens and all that in them is, and He has it all controlled by His hand (Col.1:16-17). We should heed these warnings so that we are not deceived.
