Daniel
7:13-14 (KJV)
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son
of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought
him near before him. 14 And there was
given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages,
should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and
his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Matthew 16:13
(KJV)
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he
asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
John 8:28
(KJV)
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son
of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my
Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
John 3:14
(KJV)
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even
so must the Son of man be lifted up:
John 12:32-34
(KJV)
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men
unto me. 33 This he said, signifying
what death he should die. 34 The
people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how
sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
Mark 8:27-38
(KJV)
And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of
Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men
say that I am? 28 And they answered,
John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I
am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. 31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be
rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after
three days rise again. 32 And he
spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his
disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the
things that be of God, but the things that be of men. 34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto
them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow me. 35 For whosoever will save
his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's,
the same shall save it. 36 For what
shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his
soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be
ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall
the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Mark 9:9-13
(KJV)
And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them
that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen
from the dead. 10 And they kept that
saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should
mean. 11 And they asked him, saying,
Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? 12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all
things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be
set at nought. 13 But I say unto you,
That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is
written of him.
Mark 9:30-32
(KJV)
And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and
he would not that any man should know it. 31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered
into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise
the third day. 32 But they understood
not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Mark 10:32-45
(KJV)
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus
went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he
took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, 33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the
Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall
condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and
shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. 35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would
that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. 36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? 37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may
sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory. 38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye
ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am
baptized with? 39 And they said unto
him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of;
and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it
shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. 41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
42 But Jesus called them to him, and
saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise
lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever
will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be
ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Mark 13:24-37
(KJV)
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be
darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be
shaken. 26 And then shall they see
the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the
four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her
branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these
things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. 30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these
things be done. 31 Heaven and earth
shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in
heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far
journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his
work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at
even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Mark 14:12-21
(KJV)
And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the
passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou
mayest eat the passover? 13 And he
sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there
shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master
saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 15 And he will show you a large upper room
furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. 16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said
unto them: and they made ready the passover. 17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. 18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which
eateth with me shall betray me. 19
And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said,
Is it I? 20 And he answered and said
unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. 21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written
of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man
if he had never been born.
Mark 14:53-65
(KJV)
And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him
were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. 54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he
sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. 55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to
put him to death; and found none. 56
For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. 57 And there arose certain, and bare false witness
against him, saying, 58 We heard him
say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will
build another made without hands. 59
But neither so did their witness agree together. 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest
thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him,
and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand
of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further
witnesses? 64 Ye have heard the
blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. 65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his
face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him
with the palms of their hands.
