Lesson 8

God the Son

Definition:

The second person of the Trinity. The one who gave up His own life that man might have a relationship with, once again, with God the Father.

Meaning:

Jesus being the second person of the Trinity walked on Earth as a man and in so doing left us an example of how God wants us to behave and worship Him. Jesus was perfect like the Father is perfect. As we look at Jesus' life and develop characteristics of Him into our life we are becoming more like God wants us to be and developing that perfection which is pleasing to God.

And said unto the woman, now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Jude 1:25
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Conclusion:

Jesus is the Son. He provided us with the example of how to live in a manner worthy of God. Only by believing in Him can we come to the Father.

Application:

I will study the Scriptures to see how Jesus lived His life and apply that knowledge to my own attitudes and actions today.
